Habersham welcomed a number of new additions to our popular American Treasures ® and Biltmore ® Chateau Reserve Collections during the October 2011 High Point Market. Among the new introductions included:
Biltmore Louis XV Armoire
Making its debut during the October 2011 High Point Market, this stately piece now joins others in our licensed Biltmore® Chateau Reserve Collection of copyrighted furniture designs. With each piece, our design team has worked to reflect the hospitality and gracious living that defined the acclaimed Asheville, NC estate at the turn of the century.
This particular copyrighted furniture design takes its inspiration from the many pieces and architectural elements found throughout the estate’s lovely Louis XV Suite. Restored to its original splendor, this suite offers visitors the first opportunity to fully see the house as a family home and the Vanderbilts as parents. The Louis XV Room itself is perhaps the true heart of Biltmore. It served as birthplace of George and Edith Vanderbilt’s only daughter, Cornelia, in 1900. Years later, it was where Cornelia delivered her own two sons, George Henry Vanderbilt Cecil and William Amherst Vanderbilt Cecil in 1925 and 1928, respectively. American Treasures® Loft Bookcase
As Habersham VP of Design Robert Williams explains, “There is always an ebb and flow to design. Traditional is in one moment, contemporary the next. Right now, we’re seeing a juxtaposition of sorts. Traditional looks will always endure but as you flip through the pages of today’s shelter magazines, it seems that the retro, contemporary, modern looks are really coming on strong.”
With our new American Treasures ® Collection of copyrighted furniture designs, we’ve worked to strike a transitional cord with simpler lines and cleaner looks that can blend into traditional and contemporary settings alike.
Among the pieces that made its debut during the October High Point Furniture Market is the Loft Bookcase, shown here. In addition to providing a nice showpiece for accents and books, the shelves have been sized siz so that they could provide the perfect space for these types of magazines too.
American Treasures® Apothecary Chest
Following in the footsteps of the other copyrighted furniture designs in the American Treasures Collection, the newest additions represent our response to growing demand from many of our interior design and homeowner clients who are seeking transitional furniture designs with simpler lines and cleaner styles. These pieces take their inspiration from classic styles that have been updated and simplified.
As shown here, the seven-drawer Apothecary Chest offers a delightful accent option. We chose to show three separate chests lined up together in our showroom to highlight the piece’s versatility. As with all designs in the collection, this chest is available in any of our hand-styled finish options. It is also available in a 6-drawer style, also shown here.
American Treasures ® Estate Dining Table
Our new American Treasures® Estate Dining table design got quite a bit of attention during market for its clever storage solution. As shown here, individual shelves under the tabletopact like cubbies providing the ideal storage areas for place settings, tableware and linens.
A study in simplicity and style, this was just one of the many new additions to Habersham’s growing American Treasures ® Collection of copyrighted furniture designs. Available in any of our hand styled finish options, this piece promises to blend seamlessly into any setting.
From trade and shelter magazines to antiques and architecture, our design team is always looking for sources of inspiration for our newest designs. One resource that never fails to deliver is Biltmore® Estate. As Habersham is a licensee, out team looks to the art, architecture, history and hospitality that defined this landmark Asheville, NC estate at the turn of the century to find my inspiration for the pieces they create for our Biltmore ® Chateau Reserve Collection.
One of the new designs we introduced during Fall Market was the Biltmore ® Sideboard, shown here. For this particular copyrighted furniture design we chose to reflect some of the styles and design lines found on a number of pieces found in the home’s Sheraton Room on the second floor
We’ll be posting our Spring Market introductions here in April so check back!
